The fall can't get here soon enough

Now that it's been almost a week with ridiculously high temperatures and heat indexes (105 + heat index = it feels like 110+ degrees!). It's hotter here than in Dallas and Nashville and St. Louis. Step outside and instantaneous sweat rolls down your forehead. No relief in sight. Maybe Saturday and Sunday will be cooler. No rain in the forecast either, not many clouds. Just sunny and hot. I can't wait for the fall temperatures!

But the meteorologist in me is excited because a) it's hurricane season and b) an area of possible development might end up in Arkansas bringing rain and relief. It's a very long shot since not even a tropical depression is formed and I don't know how the upper level winds are steering it but there is a strong low in the Gulf of Mexico moving west-northwest. Maybe it will at least bring clouds soon...

Another reason I'm looking forward to the fall: football. And, football in HD :D. High school football on Friday nights (which I have off), college football in HD on Saturdays, and Cowboys football in HD on Sundays. The Cowboys' preseason win against the Colts was a nice taste but I'm ready for the full slate of football. It's so close!

Church events during the fall are exciting too. From the launch of IMPACT on Wednesday nights to Bible studies on Monday nights to fall retreat in November! Exciting times are coming.

Plus, a trip to the State Fair of Texas (the best state fair there is) and a senior day at OU, my school of choice. I'm just waiting...

Until then, I'll be sweating it out here in Arkansas. The air conditioner can barely keep up in the house...
